With the addition of butadiene, this plastic is no longer transparent, but a yellow-white opaque. ABS can be supplied in all colours and has a glossy surface. It is stiff and will remain tough at lower temperatures (-40 °C). By introducing glass fibres an increase in strength is possible, but this will result in a reduction of its toughness. ABS can also be supplied as structural foam.
